Núria

A passion that grows little by little

From a very young age, Núria felt a special fascination for the box where her mother kept her jewellery. She loved opening it, putting on as many pieces as she could at once and imagining a thousand possible combinations.

As soon as she was able, she began buying small accessories that helped her express herself, define her style and feel represented, yet she never quite managed to find that piece that truly made her feel brave, free or empowered. Until one day she thought…

“If I cannot find what I like, I shall have to make it myself.”

From that moment on, Núria decided to train, to learn the craft, to work hard in order to present to you today her own jewellery brand, esmarats.

Esmarats is far more than a collection of jewels. It is a project born from the desire to share handmade pieces, from her workshop, one by one, with care in every detail so that they are as unique as the people who wear them.

Here you will find jewellery with soul. Designs that shine inside and out. Pieces that long to accompany brave, confident and authentic women like you, so that each day you may show the world who you are with pride and with your own light.

From the studio to the workshop

Núria began her journey into the world of jewellery in a small workshop in Girona, where Elena taught her the essential techniques to begin working with metal. There, she saw so many possibilities that she decided to professionalise and move to Barcelona to study the higher degree at the Escola d’Art La Industrial, where she learnt traditional jewellery techniques at the hands of excellent teachers.

In the final stage of her studies, Núria dedicated herself to researching new techniques for working metals. These were little known in her environment and posed a constant challenge for her, since they required tools she had never used before.

These techniques are anticlastic and synclastic raising, two methods full of history and beauty. In September 2024, Núria had the opportunity to take part in a course in the United States at the Metalwerx School in Waltham, Massachusetts, taught by master jeweller and craftsman Michael Good. During the course, Núria learnt, practised and enriched her vocabulary as a jeweller under the guidance of this master, who is specialised in the technique of anticlastic raising.

Where the ideas come from

Every jewel she creates is born from a deep inspiration in nature, in the pure forms of architecture, and in the minimalist elegance of Nordic design.

It was during her stay in Copenhagen that she discovered the concept of hygge, this philosophy of life based on warmth, simplicity and wellbeing. Since then, she has sought to apply it both in her daily life and in her way of creating.

“It is not so much about what you do, but about how it makes you feel.”

Núria has always been curious to understand the why of things, and this restlessness has led her to explore different paths until she found her own. She believes in the beauty of simplicity, in the magic of things made by hand, and in the value of all that is authentic. This is how esmarats was born, a project that reflects everything she believes in: craftsmanship, sustainability, transparency and dedication.

“Every piece is thought through down to the last detail so that, when you open the box and see the jewel for the first time, you feel the same emotion I feel when I create it.”
